Energy Modelling & Advanced Planning™
Revolutionising The Energy Sector

What is EMAP™ ?
Energy Modelling and Advanced Planning™ is a process developed by ESSNA™, a quantitative & qualitative process evaluation process, prioritizing scenarios based on a probability matrix, resulting in reduced carbon intensity, the most competitive Levelized Cost of Electricity (Hydrogen or Reduce CI), and meets the core business objectives of our clients. Delivering the efficient use of capital.
In many cases, a structured EMAP™ process provides access to Off-Balance Sheet Funding through ESSNA's™ SPV structure.
A Smarter Way to Make Energy Decisions
Every operation faces complex choices when it comes to energy. EMAP™ gives you the framework to model, plan, and invest with confidence — before the first dollar is spent.
Where it All Started
There was a need to develop a platform that private companies or municipalities could use to develop and evaluate different energy mixes to arrive at the most bankable outcome for their particular operation. The result of this was ESSNA's Energy Modelling and Advanced Planning program for private organizations and municipalities.
It’s Simple if you Think About-It
On starting the Energy Modelling and Planning™ process the ESSNA™ team remains technology agnostic as not all technologies are independently equal but worth their weight collectively, provided core business objectives are prioritized and scenarios are correctly positioned.
What’s the acid test?
7 out of every 10 North American companies make the incorrect energy decision, resulting in over investment or re-investment every 3 to 5 years in energy solutions.
As energy security risk increases, the need for a structured approach intensifies (energy security - the ability to meet demand through generation as it originates). If you have a technology provider selling you hardware and not a solution, the probability is high that you will not make a structured decision.
Irony about the EMAP™ process
Investment to deliver the model reduces risk exposure by up to 40% and equates to between 0,7 and 3,8% of the total project value. At the same time, opening access to off-balance sheet funding opportunities.
Reduce risk exposure by 40%
You spend $1,000,000 on your project, you may have over invested by up to $400,000 without an end-to-end Energy Modelling and Advanced Planning™ Process. Let us guide you on your on-site energy mix. We know how to save on electricity.
The Pillars of Energy Maturity
The Energy Modelling and Advanced Planning™ (EMAP) process helps organizations understand where they are on their energy journey and where they can be within 14 months.
This framework outlines five clear stages of maturity, moving from operational uncertainty to full control, guiding companies toward measurable decarbonization and reduced risk.

Each pillar represents a progressive stage in an organization’s energy maturity — moving from reactive operations to full control and optimization through ESSNA™’s Energy Modelling and Advanced Planning™ (EMAP™) process.
1. Existence
Operations are reactive with minimal visibility or data collection. Energy performance is untracked, and decisions are largely manual.
2. Emerging
Awareness of energy performance begins. Initial baselining and basic tracking are introduced, but energy management remains fragmented.
3. Defined Management
Energy data and processes become structured. Baselines are established, and performance can be measured against clear KPIs.
4. Leverage Integration
Scenario planning brings multiple energy technologies together, improving efficiency and lowering risk exposure.
5. Control
Systems operate in an optimized, low-risk state. Energy generation and usage are continuously monitored, delivering measurable decarbonization and cost savings.
